The Electric Graduation Trip

Hello friends,

Jake has graduated cum laude from prestigious St. Mary's College with BA in Spanish and a minor in Education. Since dad is a little odd and doesn't like to give things as gift we are off  to sail on the schooner American Eagle for several days along the Maine coast.  http://www.schooneramericaneagle.com/.  Our cutlural plans include several days in Bar Harbour http://www.visitmaine.com/region/downeast/bar_harbor/  Acadia National Park http://www.nps.gov/acad/index.htm , a whale watch   http://www.mainewhales.com/d_cf_whales.htm?gclid=CKeUt6y-iKkCFQ-F5godTUnGoA , the Wyeth Center http://www.farnsworthmuseum.org/wyeth-center in Rockport and the Oslon House  http://www.farnsworthmuseum.org/olson-house.   We have other plans that are not so cultural but we'll share those as they unfold.

Follow our adventures from May 31 thru June 10.  We will both be posting pictures and reports on the adventure.

  1. What a great trip. I, like you, am not gift giver, in the traditional sense. I, like you, offered my son a trip with me for a college graduation present. I told him that I would take him any place in the world he wanted to go for two weeks. Much to my surprise, he chose Alaska. It was an unforgettable trip for both of us, so much for him that two years later he took a 6 month job as a supervisor in a lodge there. Finally, I am also on a second career. I retried from practicing law in 2006 and began a writing career. My first full length book was published three weeks ago, a memoir, "Digging Deep: A Writer Uncovers His Marriages." I am pleased that it is selling well on Amazon. If you're interested, there is more information on my website, http://www.BoydLemon-Writer.com.
